Its a bug that needs to be fixed. That's all.
It is, however, a bug that allows you to contradict the storyline, so make up your own story. How abouts... This Duke gives me a quest to find his daughter's ashes. Well in my journey I came across a kindly stranger who had noted a group of charr tormenting, torturing and killing a young woman. He made a great effort to intervene and save her, but was unsuccessfull and ended up with some of her scattered ashes as evidence of his trial. He has also told the Duke of this harrowing tale, but as the Duke has also asked you, he must need further confirmation. The kindly stranger offers you a sample of his ashes to further convince the Duke of his daughter's fate. You then follow through and return to the Duke with this evidence for which he thanks you. Perhaps this story is a valid quest solution as well |
